*St Mun October 21st
St Mun, (Munn, Munda, Fintan-Munnu) Abbot, AD 635, was a contempory of St Columba and was very austere in his life-style, offering-up his considerable physical suffering for the salvation of souls. He came to Scotland and lived on an island in Loch Leven (Eileanmunde).
His major contribution to Christian witness was at Kilmun near Dunoon. Medieval Scottish documents refer to his staff being kept in Kilmun, but this no longer remains. Another area of activity was said to be around Ballachullish, where an image of him can be found in the garden of the church.
