*St Barr September 25th
Sr Barr, (Finbar), 550-610, was a 6th century Irish Bishop, the 1st Bishop of Cork. Made a pilgrimage to Rome, then set out as a missionary to Scotland, travelling to Kintyre, where Davaar Island at Campbeltown is named after him. On the island of Barra - also named in his honour, an image of the saint kept in the ancient graveyard and site of historical ruins known as Kilbarr was clothed with a linen robe on his feast day until the late 19th century.
